The world that we had grown up with changed forever in 1977. Punk ushered in a new dawn with post punk / Indie / New Wave / SKA revival and goth bands dominating the music we listened to. This change was radical and irrevocable. It also changed us. Come and celebrate the music that was so important to our generation.
Red Light Green Light a three piece Wellington based band that have mastered the art of covering tunes whilst keeping their musical identity. Red Light Green Light are Steve Ogilvie (vocals/guitar/bass), Mark Jardine (vocals/guitar) and Rupert Sells (drums/percussion). Steve has a thriving solo career and played Glastonbury among other festivals last summer. Among Mark’s acting career credits include an appearance in the Joy Division biopic ‘Control’. He plays a manager of other bands. Perhaps the Ian Curtis vocal vibe came through this worthy cinematic experience or through being a fan back in the day, either way, Mark’s vocal style suits.
Llongstone Moon are a band with a growing reputation. Having played a wide number of venues across Devon, this 4 piece is going from strength to strength. They are Andy (guitar, vocals), Keith (guitar, vocals), Steph (keyboard) and Dave Heath (vocals, drums)
Dave Craig is a great entertainer. Picking only bangers and sing along tunes he really gets the crowd up.
Billy Blagg and the Jammed offers tribute to the legendary song writing talents of Billy Bragg and Paul Weller. Andy Bell, the Bard of Butts Close, renders the icon work of these two artists in a stripped back acoustic style.
In memory of the DJ that did most for alternative music 1977 to 1987 DJ Dennis will be a doing an hour set with a John Peel vibe and an hour of SKA revival. It may not be uptown Jamaica but we promise you a treat!
